今回ご紹介の品物は、佐々木昭楽の黒楽茶碗です。こちらは国宝にもなっている本阿弥光悦の白楽茶碗『不二山』の写しです。

楽茶碗は、ろくろを用いずに手捏ねで茶碗の原形をつくり、へらで形を削り上げる成形方法で、手捏ねだからこその味わい深さがあります。

佐々木昭楽は、1944年京都に生まれ、1962年、父、二代松楽に師事しました。

赤楽、黒楽といった楽焼の伝統を守りながら、茶陶として優美な作品づくりに力を注いでいます。

また、観賞用ではなく、茶席や家庭で楽しくお茶が飲める茶碗づくりをモットーに作陶。

初代樂長次郎や本阿弥光悦などの大家が生み出した楽焼の名物、その写し物を得意としています。当代は三代目昭楽。

The item introduced this time is a black Raku tea bowl by Shoraku Sasaki. This is a copy of Honami Koetsu’s White Raku Tea Bowl “Fujisan”, which is also a National Treasure.

Raku tea bowls are formed by hand-kneading without using a wheel and then shaving the shape with a spatula, which gives them a deep taste because they are hand-kneaded.

Shoraku Sasaki was born in Kyoto in 1944 and studied under his father, Shoraku II, in 1962.

He has concentrated on creating elegant tea ceramics while preserving the traditions of Raku ware, such as Akaraku and Kuro Raku.

His pottery is not for ornamental purposes, but for the enjoyment of tea at the tea ceremony and in the home.

The pottery specialises in Raku ware masterpieces created by great masters such as Raku Chojiro I and Hon’ami Koetsu, as well as their copies. The current generation is the third generation of Shoraku.
