三輪栄造　miwa eizou

今回ご紹介の品物は、三輪栄造（1946～1999）の萩茶碗です。

両手で持った時に、茶碗の曲線が手にすっぽりと馴染み、温かみがあります。萩焼の特徴である白い釉薬が作り出す、模様が美しい作品です。

三輪栄造は、人間国宝である11代三輪休雪（壽雪）の次男として山口県萩市に生まれました。1968年武蔵野美術大学・彫刻家を卒業後、

1970年、伯父・三輪休和の養子となり、三輪窯を継承。1982年には、日本工芸会正会員となり、人気・実力ともに将来を嘱望されましたが、1999年53歳の若さでこの世を去りました。三輪窯は旧萩藩御用窯のひとつで、萩焼屈指の名門と言われています。10代休雪によって開発された藁灰の釉薬を11代休雪が大成させた白い釉薬は「休雪白」と呼ばれ有名です。現在もなお、窯の火を絶やすことなく萩焼の技法を守り続けています。

The item introduced here is a Hagi tea bowl by Eizou Miwa (1946-1999).

When held in both hands, the curved line of the bowl fits comfortably in the hand, giving it a warm feeling.

The patterns created by the white glaze, a characteristic of Hagiyaki pottery, are beautiful.

Eizou Miwa was born in Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the second son of Living National Treasure Miwa Kyusetsu (Jusetsu) XI,
In 1982, he became a full member of the Japan Craftsmen’s Association (JCCA), and was highly regarded for his popularity and ability, until his death in 1999 at the young age of 53.

The Miwa Kiln is one of the former Hagi domain’s official kilns and is said to be one of the most prestigious Hagi-ware kilns,

famous for the white glaze called “Kyusetsu White,” which was developed by the 11th generation Kyusetsu from the straw ash glaze developed by the 10th generation Kyusetsu.

Even today, the kiln continues to keep its fire burning and the Hagiyaki technique alive.

店頭にて碁石を買い取りさせて頂きました。

今回お買取りした碁石のサイズは 37号で蛤碁石が約10.4mm、厚手の碁石となります。

経年があるため淡い黄色味があります。

那智黒碁石は蛤碁石よりも若干厚く作られています。

これは白石と黒石を並べた場合、白石が膨張色でやや大きく黒は収縮色でやや小さく見えるため、視覚的なバランスを配慮して黒石を若干大きめに作られています。

碁石の作りはシンプルですが、長い歴史の中で色々な工夫があり面白いです。

慈光では、碁石の買取を行っております。

被せガラス(きせがらす)とは、成形したガラスが熱いうちに、別の色のガラスを部分的、または全体的に被せて溶着する技法です。

今回ご紹介の品物は、その被せガラスの脚付き杯で、鹿児島県のツジガラス工芸の職人・辻俊幸が制作した薩摩切子です。

辻俊幸は、独自のカッティング技法である『カボッション』を考案しました。カットの境目にぼかしがあり、色ガラスに溶け込むような柔らかなグラデーションが、大

Kise-garasu is a technique whereby another coloured glass is partially or completely covered with the moulded glass while it is still hot and fused to it.

The item introduced here is a cased glass cup with legs, produced by Toshiyuki Tsuji, a craftsman at Tsuji Glass Crafts in Kagoshima Prefecture, Satsuma Kiriko.

Toshiyuki Tsuji invented his own cutting technique called ‘cabochon’. The soft gradation that blurs the borders of the cut and blends into the coloured glass is a major feature.

井上萬二　人間国宝　茶碗　Manji Inoue Human National Treasure Tea Bowl

慈光では、井上萬二の陶器を販売、お買い取りを行っております。

今回ご紹介の品物は、人間国宝・井上萬二の作品で、白磁緑釉牡丹彫文の抹茶碗です。井上萬二（1929年～）は、カナダ・アメリカ・ドイツなど、数多くの個展を開催しています。『伝統工芸の世界では、用と美を兼ね備えて、初めて人間性あふれる作品が生まれるものと信じている』と語る井上は、卓越した技術が認められ、海外でも高い評価を得ています。こちらの作品は、白磁に大胆に牡丹が彫り込まれ、淡い緑の釉薬は、繊細な美しさがあります。底から口縁部にかけて僅かに広がり、見込みが深く、高台に出っ張りがついています。持ちやすく、大変手に馴染みやすく、まさに用の美を感じさせる作品になっています。只今、慈光店舗にて販売しております。どうぞご覧下さい。

The item introduced here is a white porcelain green glazed matcha cup with carved peony design, by Inoue Manji, a living national treasure.

Inoue Manji (1929- ) has held numerous solo exhibitions in Canada, the United States, and Germany.

Inoue, who says, “In the world of traditional crafts, I believe that only by combining use and beauty can a work of art be created that is full of humanity,” has been

recognized for his outstanding technique and is highly acclaimed overseas as well.

In this piece, peonies are boldly carved into the white porcelain, and the pale green glaze has a delicate beauty.

The base of the bowl is slightly widened from the bottom to the rim of the mouth, with a deep prospect and a protrusion on the base.

It is easy to hold and very comfortable in the hand, and is a work of art that evokes the beauty of utility.
